Track Day Saturday 21 May 2011

With the Great Northern Weekend doing such a fine job as the Club’s first event of the year our trackday will follow the format used last year of being held later on the third weekend in May. So once again participants will have the benefit of more daylight for the drive to and from the track.

 The day is open to all LMC members and is not intended to be just for those with hot hatches or racecars. With only five cars at a time on the 2.4-mile circuit, you will hardly see another car. The rules of the track are carefully explained to all attendees and strictly monitored by the Goodwood organisers, so your pride and joy can be driven just as you wish with little chance of incident. Goodwood’s chief instructor will be on hand to advise and assist to those new to the track.

We have tried desperately hard to keep the price rise to an absolute minimum despite track hire and VAT increases. The price is only £179 per car for the whole day – an absolute bargain for this circuit which has such very great ties with Lancia. That is just £5 more than last year but we really do need a full compliment of 40 cars. So if you wish to keep this important club event running please, please enter NOW!

Our Goodwood trackday is a very social occasion, with a lounge at our disposal, refreshments, a photographer plus the Club regalia stand all to hand. Family and friends are as in previous years very welcome. The circuit owners have requested that all attendees remember where they are and that moving cars always present danger particularly to the young. Children must be closely supervised at all time and all animals are strictly prohibited. Only entrants and passengers wearing the circuit’s armbands are permitted in the pitlane.

Volunteers to assist with paddock duties for a couple of hours would be much appreciated and are requested to contact Brian Mills. (see contact details below)

So put Saturday 21 May in your diary now, fill in the application form included with this issue of Viva Lancia! and send it off straight away. Entries will be accepted on a strict first come first served basis and will be limited to ensure good track time for all.

Goodwood Stop Press!!!

Both a B24 Spyder and a Hyena are now entered and the day will feature demonstration laps by a dozen or so Aprilias celebrating their 75th birthday. So come on guys – there are still a few places available so get you entries in.
