Lancia Motor Club 2008 National Rally & AGM
Alexandra House Whittingham Drive, Wroughton, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN4 0QJ

This year’s AGM spans a full weekend, from the afternoon of Friday 4th July to the afternoon of Sunday 6th July. An exciting programme of events has been planned to enable you to enjoy your Lancia amongst friends old and new.

The Wiltshire White Horse Tour [Saturday]

Arranged for the Club by Ed & Ade Rudler, the driving tour takes in some of Wiltshire’s lovely countryside and quiet roads to visit a number of the white horses the area is renowned for. There will be opportunities to stop for lunch on the route, and we will also be offering the chance to visit Abbey House Gardens and the Atwell Wilson Car Museum, both for a small fee.

Abbey House Gardens [Saturday]

With over 10,000 different plants this is a ‘must see’ garden for ideas, yet a visit is calming and soothing. There is a special atmosphere, especially in the river gardens and probably the best flower display throughout the seasons that you could find.  One visitor recently remarked that, “This is a garden that gives you a hug from the moment you enter and which you leave, slowly, with a smile on your face.”

The Atwell Wilson Car Museum [Saturday]

Tucked away in a quiet corner near Calne is the Atwell Wilson Car Museum. The Museum is home to a collection of about 90 cars, including a Lancia! The contents are varied, from a number of everyday classics, to rare cars and lorries. Amongst these are a 1934 Alvis Speed 20, 1938 Daimler EL24, 1953 Allard Palm Beach, (complete with a rarely seen, Dodge Red Ram engine), and a 1951 Dennis Fire Engine. Richard Atwell has always had a strong interest in North American cars, so there is an interesting array of Ford, GM, and Chrysler products from across “The Pond”. There is also a good variety of rare motorcycles, carrying the legendary names of Brough, BSA, HRD, Matchless, Triumph, Norton, Sunbeam, Velocette and Indian, to name but a few.

The National Rally

As ever on Sunday, we encourage Lancia owners from far and wide to bring and display their pride and joy for the enjoyment of all. We will be holding the usual concours competition to celebrate those in particularly spectacular condition.
